Leonardtown square is the heart of historic downtown Leonardtown - Madelyn's hometown! For a sweet treat we recommend the Salted Scoop or the Kneaded Bakery. For dinner we recommend the Olde Towne Pub or Sweetbay. For drinks, coffee, or breakfast we recommend The Social Coffeehouse (as mentioned separately!) and Boone's Bagels. You can walk to the Leonardtown Wharf from here to see the Breton Bay waterfront.
Solomons Island is all about the water and is a great spot for live music, seafood and drinks. For food we recommend the Island Hideaway, and for drinks we recommend the famous Tiki Bar, though there are plenty of great spots here. Definitely worth a visit for the views alone!
St. Mary's City is the oldest town in Maryland. It was established in 1634 and was the original state capital. It is also recognized as the site where religious freedom was first recognized in North America. There is great history at this spot, and it is also the home of St. Mary's College of Maryland. There are gorgeous waterfront views here!
Point Lookout is one of the state's most popular parks, and is the southernmost point of the western shore of Maryland. There is great nature and history here, and the lighthouse is even said to be one of the most haunted in America!
