Maddy and Dao went to the same school in sixth grade but never talked to each other. Despite not ever talking to each other, they were friends on social media. Fast forward to sophomore year of college Dao randomly reached out to Maddy and invited her to go to church with him. After church ended, he nervously asked her to grab lunch at a later date and she obliged. The first date went well, despite Dao only talking for approximately 10 minutes, and that lead to many other dates after that. He got the privilege of meeting Maddy’s family especially Kodak, and she got the privilege of meeting his as well. After talking for about a month they decided to become official. They would then grow through community and church and hang out with family becoming the couple you see today.

During the week of the proposal Dao invited Maddy to a "wedding" that way she would have to dress up. The Saturday of "The wedding" Dao and Maddy were on the way to the garden to "take pictures" with the bride and groom. Dao called his dad to ask if they were still taking pictures and his dad said yes and told them to hurry up to make it "seem real". They got out of the car and started walking through the garden, but didn't see a bride or groom. Dao told Maddy they were on the other side of the garden. All of a sudden they stopped at a water fountain in the middle of the garden. Maddy looked to her right and saw a camera pointed at her. She looked back at Dao and knew right away. She was in shock and couldn't believe her dream was coming true. It was such a surreal moment! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in May!
