Places To See

For our out of town guests, we wanted to share a list of some of our favorite local spots for you to check out while you are in town! While The French Quarter and Bourbon Street surely have their appeal, we wanted to suggest some other areas that you might otherwise miss!

The Station Coffee Shop & Bakery

4400 Bienville Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

We love our little coffee shop dates and this is one of our favorite spots. Delicious coffee and treats made in house, and always a dog or two to pet on the outdoor patio.

Ruby Slipper Cafe

Ruby Slipper Cafe

200 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

We love brunch, and if you ask anyone in New Orleans where to get brunch, this will be on the list. There are a lot of locations, but Magazine St. is always a good place to spend the day. The wait may be a little long, but the food is genuinely so good. The name of the restaurant always makes Nicole's little Kansas heart feel right at home.

Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar

Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar

4338 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115

No trip to New Orleans would be complete for the Miller family without a stop to Superior Seafood. With a classic atmosphere and really delicious oysters, it is a great option for a nice dinner without getting too fancy.

The Velvet Cactus

6300 Argonne Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124

Located conveniently close to our home, this is our favorite place to get take out. It also provides a fun atmosphere for a dinner out. Maddie always gets the taco salad while Nicole always gets an exploded burrito.

The Vintage

The Vintage

3121 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

This spot has it all. Coffee, cocktails, and delicious food. Whatever the time of day, this is a great place to visit. Magazine St. is always a great place to window shop and explore one of the most beautiful parts of the city.

Dat Dog

Dat Dog

5030 Freret Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Dat Dog has multiple locations, including one on Magazine, but Maddie used to work at the one on Freret, which is another fun area to explore. Now you might be thinking "Hot dogs? Really?" But we promise, Dat Dog is so much more than you expect. They have so many different sausages to choose between from classic pork to the more adventurous gator. There is something for everyone, even the pickiest of eaters.

Carousel Gardens in City Park

Carousel Gardens in City Park

7 Victory Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124

This little amusement park means a lot to us- we had one of our first dates and took our engagement photos here. For those with children or children at heart, this is a great activity for your afternoon. City Park is also full of so many other fun attractions, including the art museum, putt-putt, and beignets.

JAMNOLA

JAMNOLA

2832 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

This is a really fun museum/photo op attraction that explores different parts of New Orleans culture from food and music to the history of Mardi Gras.

Undergrowth Coffee

Undergrowth Coffee

4332 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

This spot has great coffee with house made syrups and dairy-free milks. It also happens to be where Nicole works!!! She's new to the team, but loves the people she works with a lot and would love it if you paid them a visit over the wedding weekend. It has a beautiful patio out back and an amazing food menu. (Psst- Nicole made the latte in this pictrure, aren't you impressed?)

Hungry Eyes

Hungry Eyes

4206 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Perhaps Nicole's favorite little spot in New Orleans. What's not to love about an 80's themed cocktail bar? The decor is amazing, the drinks are beautiful, and all the food is absolutely delicious.
