Balboa Park

San Diego, CA

Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre historic urban cultural park in San Diego, California. The park hosts various museums, theaters, restaurants, and the San Diego Zoo.

Birch Aquarium

Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Birch Aquarium features the groundbreaking work of Scripps Oceanography.

Bird Rock

La Jolla, CA 92037

A cute little town connecting La Jolla and Pacific Beach, great for bike riding on the bike path and yummy restaurants. Fun fact, Mark met Maddie's parents for the first time in Bird Rock!

Bronx Pizza

A definite must if you want to go for a drive across the San Diego Bay Bridge or you can take the ferry! Definitely check out the historic Hotel Del for a drink on the beach.

Gaslamp Quarter - The Historic Heart Of San Diego

The Gaslamp Quarter is a lively downtown neighborhood, known for its nightlife. Horton Plaza Park has grassy lawns, ice cream and coffee vendors, and an interactive fountain.

Harry's Coffee Shop

Maddie's family has been dining here for years. A La Jolla staple with incredible breakfast!! Try the Horchata Cold Brew ;)

La Clochette

This is one of the best cafes we used to walk to when we lived in North PB and they make the best almond croissant, Maddie's favorite!

La Jolla Cove

San Diego, CA 92037

La Jolla Cove is a small cove with a beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla. The area is protected as part of a marine reserve and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers.

This has quickly become one of Maddie's families' favorite breakfast and brunch spots and even better it is right across the street from the church!

The Fishery

One of our all time favorite dinner spots in all of San Diego! Incredible cocktails and even better seafood!

Oltre Mare

One of our first regular date night spots, and maybe our favorite! BYOB (no corking fee), family owned, Italian with a simple yet delicious menu! Ask for Sarah :)

Paradisaea

5680 La Jolla Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92037

A Michelin star dining experience in the heart of Bird Rock. Reservation recommended, but the bar is first come first serve.

Petco Park

100 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101

If the Padres are still playing this season, definitely go check out a game. Such a beautiful field to enjoy a beer and a hot dog. Mark and Maddie have enjoyed so many dates here with each other and friends!

Pacific Beach

This is where Maddie met Mark and all the other Chatham hooligans maaany years ago. We continued to live here in a few different apartments before we made the move out east. There are a bunch of fun bars and restaurants to enjoy by day or night!

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a wilderness island in an urban sea. This fragile environment is the home of our nation's rarest pine tree. We love to go for a fun and easy hike and then get lunch afterwards.

UCSD Scripps Pier

8650 Kennel Way, La Jolla, CA 92037

One of the popular surf spots and beaches around town. If you take a stroll north, past Scripps Pier, you'll see the spot where Mark popped the big question. And if you peek around the area, you might be able to spot the venue for the reception celebration!

USS Midway Museum

910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

The USS Midway Museum is a historical naval aircraft carrier museum located in downtown. The ship houses an extensive collection of aircraft, many of which were built in Southern California.

Windansea Park

6600 Neptune Place, San Diego, CA 92037

This is an iconic and special beach that Maddie grew up going to with family and friends for beach days and sunset dips. This is also one of Jet's favorite places ;)
