Like many couples who are blessed to find their better half, you get to a point where you stop and think about the butterfly effect. Kenny and I like to think of our butterfly effects more as answered prayers. God's steady and gentle way of weaving us in and out of the intricacies of our young adult lives to land us both in Alexandria, VA at the right time. At the center of our story is an incredible community of friends who unknowingly helped bring us together. Before Kenny even moved to town, I had already heard plenty about “the new guy” moving into the house known for hosting all the social gatherings. The very night he arrived, there happened to be a birthday party that I’d randomly been invited to as well. I'll never forget him walking through the front door, it felt like a scene from a movie (partially because he was in a ridiculous group costume with some of the guys, all wearing crushed velvet track suits looking like they walked straight off MTV’s Jersey Shore). I remember pausing and thinking he had the most beautiful head of hair and a killer smile...so I had to go introduce myself! Over the following weeks, we kept running into each other at church and social events. Around that same time, some friends and I had started praying specifically for our future husbands, asking God to place them in our path. Then, on St. Patrick’s Day weekend - yes, the track suit made another appearance - Kenny asked me on our first date. That date came and went and we've been inseparable ever since. To have found each other in this busy world is such a miracle in and of itself, but quite literally, it was an answer to a prayer.
