This is probably our number one recommendation for you to do while you're here. Hermann Park is huge and absolutely beautiful, and it is right in the middle of the Museum District, which includes the Menil Collection, Holocaust Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Children's Museum, Museum of Natural Science (which includes the Cockrell Butterfly Center and the Planetarium), and the Houston Zoo! We absolutely recommend at least driving through.
"Houston, we have a problem." Houston is obviously known for NASA, so you cannot miss it while you're here. There is a Tram Tour, Astronaut Training Facility Tour, and a Mission Control Center tour.
More than 30 million visitors visit The Galleria each year. It is Texas’ largest shopping center and fourth largest domain nationally, spanning 2.4 million square feet of space, housing 400 fine stores and restaurants, two high-rise Westin hotels, and three office towers. It's also so close to the ceremony and reception venues that you might as well visit!
Galveston actually has so much history and many fun things to do. We recommend visiting The Strand, Kemah Boardwalk, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, Pleasure Pier, and of course, the beach.
This is our number one restaurant, and they offer more than just sushi if that isn't your thing! We seriously go here so often and would love for you to try it. Ask for Apple, our favorite waitress and friend!
There are many Pappasito's locations throughout Houston, but this is the original and the best. If you are looking for true Tex Mex, this is the place you should get it. We recommend the queso and the sopapillas!
Pappadeaux is the best place to go for cajun-style seafood. There are many different locations and all of them are great and serve up an energetic atmosphere, authentic flavors and great service! We recommend the Shrimp & Crawfish Fondeaux as an appetizer!
Pappas Burger serves up different kinds of burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and the best shakes in town.
This is THE BEST Chinese place we have EVER been to. You get so much authentic food for so cheap, and it is so good! It's a little hole in the wall nestled in the heart of Houston's infamous Chinatown. You get good food and also an opportunity to see all of the diversity that Houston has to offer. Cash only!
Believe it or not, every school kid in Houston takes a field trip to this steakhouse in Middle School. With all of the memorabilia throughout the restaurant, there is so much to learn, and you can do it all over good food! The owners are also the same owners that started the restaurant over four decades ago, and they do a lot of good for the Houston community and their employees, offering scholarships for their college-aged workers. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here.
