Well... Long story, not so short. Miles (My brother) and Jet had played T-ball when they were around 3 years old, which is where our families originally had met. Over the years, the Grahams went to First Baptist Lavon, where my mom's parents also attended. Jet and Miles stayed in contact, but Jet and I never seemed to have met. In the Spring of '22, when Trisha, Jets' mom, came to a small group my mom was putting on. I walked downstairs after hiding to grab some food, when Trisha stopped me after my mom introduced us, said hi, and then said, "Do you remember my youngest son Jet?" I thought I had no clue who she is or who her son is, so I hesitantly said "yeah," and Trisha laughed, knowing I didn't. Later that spring, when the Grahams started attending the new Northplace Wylie campus, although Jet was finishing school, I didn't see him at first. When Jet was done for the summer, we finally really met at church in the summer of 2022. I had just graduated from high school, and Jet had just finished junior year of college, and neither one of us was looking for any sort of relationship. After the Grahams had moved to Northplace Wylie, our families stopped every Sunday to talk. Jet, Jamie, and I would talk every Sunday after church about me heading off to OU and how they just couldn't believe it as Texas fans. LOL! After a month or two of Sunday talks, my mema mentions how I should invite Jet to an after-church lunch... Obviously, I responded, "Mema, I don't ask boys out; boys ask me out!" Well, not even a week later, I slid into Jet's DMs and asked if we wanted to go to young adults together. We immediately hit it off and were basically inseparable after our first hangout. We then went on to go to The porch together, a young adult church service, in Dallas, and found ways to invite friends and hang out. The week I was leaving for school, I remember looking up to Jet and asking him, "What are we going to do now?" Because we both knew there was distance between the schools, and we had both admitted to liking each other a lot. So when I went off to OU and then he went back to OWKU, we promised to try it out and give it our best shot. My first trip to Jet was when he asked me to be his girlfriend on his college baseball field. In the little Oklahoma town of Bartlesville, it was the perfect place. Fast forward two and a half years, on our very first Valentine's Day to be together after a long distance and fire academy, Jet asked me to be his wife at Erwin Park in McKinney. We are both so excited to finally be in the same place and to start forever together. We thank the Lord so often for the relationship He cultivated between us and how we were never just boyfriend and girlfriend, but truly best friends. Here's to forever!
