Many of you know the unique path that brought us here. It starts in June of 2019 when one of my best friends, Ainslee, hosted a lake house get together. This was where our story began as Garrett was invited through mutual friends of mine and Ainslee’s. That first day at the lake we became instantly inseparable. We spent the day hanging out and getting to know one another. We learned quickly that we graduated high school together and had weird connections throughout our lifetime where we could have met but didn’t. Felt like an invisible string kept us close but separated until the time was right! We began dating that summer and jumped into long distance as I was attending the University of Arkansas and Garrett was beginning at Texas Tech University that August. In April of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, we ended up going our separate ways just shy of a year together. We continued to be friends but provided one another with the space needed to find ourselves during our time apart. I received my bachelor’s degree from the U of A before moving to Kansas City to start studying for my doctorate in Audiology. Garrett finished his bachelor's degree at Texas Tech before moving back to Dallas to join the workforce working in sales. As the years went on, we continued to talk and see each other as much as possible. Slowly rebuilding our relationship and becoming friends outside of a romantic relationship. In March of 2024, I decided to invite Garrett to Kansas City one weekend to catch up and show him around the town. The rest as they say, is history.
