Sunbathe or walk along the 10-mile stretch of Atlantic shoreline. The only public access is at Kiawah Beachwalker County Park, which features a seasonal lifeguard and a boardwalk.
The Ocean Course (Pete Dye, 1991): The crown jewel of Kiawah and host of the 1991 Ryder Cup, 2012 and 2021 PGA Championships, and the upcoming 2031 PGA. It has more seaside holes than any other course in the Northern Hemisphere and was named "America's Toughest Course" by Golf Digest. Osprey Point (Tom Fazio, 1988): Known for its stunning scenery, this course winds through lush maritime forests, lagoons, and saltwater marshes. Turtle Point (Jack Nicklaus, 1981): A great challenge for skilled players, this course features oceanfront holes and was heavily praised by the pros. Cougar Point (Gary Player, redesigned 2017): Offers dramatic vistas, particularly along the Kiawah River, and features a newly renovated clubhouse. Oak Point (Clyde Johnston, 1995): Located on the site of an old indigo and cotton plantation, it features undulating fairways and challenging.
Located just outside the resort gates, this open-air hub features shopping, clothing boutiques, and dining options. Grab gourmet sandwiches at The Co-Op, or enjoy wine and small plates at FortyEight - A Wine Bar.
Drive 45 minutes northeast to downtown Charleston to walk along The Battery, stroll Rainbow Row, or shop for artisan goods on King Street.
Heron Park Nature Center: Located in Night Heron Park, this center offers alligator and birding walks, nature tours, and information on loggerhead sea turtle nesting.
