Maddie and Doug met during college in October of 2018 in West Palm Beach, FL. After only 3 dates, they were official! Doug graduated from PBA shortly after they started dating, but he stayed in West Palm. Doug and Maddie took any chance they got to go to a country concert, go out on a boat, or just be in the FL sunshine. They moved into their first apartment in Royal Palm Beach during Maddie's last year at PBA. When Maddie graduated in 2021, she couldn't turn down a fully funded master's program, but it meant moving to Bristol, RI. Doug and Maddie struggled through long distance, and even took some time apart. It was only after being separated for a few months that they knew they belonged together. Doug visited Maddie in RI in October 2022, and they got back together. Maddie finished grad school and moved to Greensboro, NC with Doug the day after Christmas 2022. North Carolina quickly became home, and Doug proposed to Maddie on October 22, 2023 on their 5-year anniversary. We can't wait to officially start our lives together and celebrate with all of our friends and family! See you in Goldsboro!
