Maid of Honor
Julia is Madeline's cousin and her oldest friend. Madeline is an only child, and Julia and her sister Erica have filled the sibling shaped hole in her life. Julia is wickedly funny and a keen scientist. Although her field is "bugs", with a degree in entomology from UC Riverside, Madeline has never seen Julia pass an animal she didn't try to befriend. Julia is fiercely competitive and will never go easy on you in a game of ping pong. Long ago she introduced Madeline to Hot Cheetoh Fries and for this the bride and groom are eternally grateful. You can find Julia out in the desert conducting field work for UCR and collecting bug specimen for study. She can make Madeline laugh harder than any other living person and Madeline is excited to have Julia by her side as her Maid of Honor just as it is written in the scrolls.
Best Man
Kavan was one of Colin's first friends in Washington state. Meeting in Ms. Gourlie's 1st-grade class at Maywood Hills Elementary, they have spent most of their lives growing up beside one another. Playing on several little league soccer and baseball teams, they have a long history of friendship, and Kavan has not yet gotten sick of Colin. Kavan has consistently dealt with Colin's horrible miscalculations and lack of planning. One example is the New Year's Eve spent scouring downtown Seattle for an open bathroom, adding nearly two miles to the already rigorous walk and missing out on almost all the activities that Colin "planned." Kavan is one of the founding members of "Cinema Club" and has known Colin and Maddie for the entirety of their relationship. Kavan recently graduated from the University of Washington and is applying for grad school. Kavan is one of the most kind and caring people Colin has had the pleasure of meeting.
Bridesmaid
Madeline first met Maggie on Maggie's 14th birthday, when she gave Madeline the impression that she may be part cat due to her aloof nature. Madeline has since had the privilege of getting to know Maggie and has watched her grow into a self-assured young lady and great friend. Maggie typically announces her presence with some delicious home-baked goods including the bride and groom's favorite: chocolate chip cookies. Maggie is also a talented athlete who coaches little ones in gymnastics while she's in Salem Oregon earning her degree. Madeline is so grateful to have her as her sister.
Groomsman
Paul and Colin first met by playing 5th and 6th grade lacrosse together. One of their first interactions was Colin throwing his lacrosse stick into the woods after Paul beat him in a drill. Ever since, Paul and Colin have had a strong friendship anchored by their passion for sports. Often paired up through coincidence, Paul and Colin have had many adventures, from nearly missing the bus for the Everglades on a football trip in Miami to coaching the best 5th and 6th grade summer lacrosse team that wore green jerseys from the greater Lake Washington area. Paul is one of the most genuine and down-to-earth people Colin has had the pleasure of befriending. Not to mention, Paul is single and ready to mingle.
Bridesmaid
Erica Perez is Julia's younger sister and an integral point of the Julia-Erica-Maddie "JEM" trio. Erica is kind, compassionate, and holds the high honor of being the youngest grandchild. Her interests change with the tides but when it comes to her family she's a true loyalist. She's working at Trader Joe's (that hallowed place where the bride and groom met) while earning her business degree at CalPoly Pomona. She is a connoisseur of California cheeseburgers and legend has it that she cried the day Adobe Flash went down. Madeline would go on strike if Erica was unable to be a bridesmaid at her wedding.
Groomsman
Sean and Colin met through playing high school lacrosse together. While playing together for two years, it was only after Sean returned to Washington and began coaching high school lacrosse that their friendship flourished. Sean has been a mentor to Colin and has helped to expand his coaching knowledge. On top of the mentorship, they have shared many great memories through coaching against each other. Sean is a hard-working and fun guy to be around, and if you're able to speak fluent lax-bro, he's your guy. Yes, he's related to Paul.
Bridesmaid
Killeen "Kiki" Dempsey is Colin's younger sister by two years and taller sister by one inch. When the bride met her she was a feisty teen and now she's a grown lady earning her Master's degree in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. Of the many qualities Kiki shares with Dominic Toretto of Fast & Furious fame, the most notable are her dedication to her family and friends and her driving style. Kiki is in the top 1% of fans of classic Scooby-Doo, fresh popcorn, and Tank - her pit bull who is allergic to almost everything. Kiki welcomed Madeline into the Dempsey family long before Colin put a ring on her finger, and Madeline is excited to make it official with Kiki by her side.
Groomsman
Colin and Jacob first met when Colin was a freshman, and Jacob was a senior on their high school lacrosse team. Jacob would later return and coach Colin for his senior year, where a deeply valued mentorship and friendship developed. From helping him play in college to introducing him to coaching youth lacrosse, Jacob is one of the primary reasons that Colin was able to extend his involvement in the sport that he loved. Jacob has pushed Colin to be a better coach and person overall. Jacob is known for his can-do attitude and his dedication to his friends. As a side note, do not ask Jacob about his record coaching against Colin; otherwise, Colin will be visibly agitated.
Bridesmaid
Cammy is Madeline's oldest non-relative friend. She first met Cammy when they were ten years old in Mr. Wright's fifth grade class where they connected over a shared sense of humor as well as a mutual love of Warriors cat books and drawing. Cammy has a mind that is always turning, and if she ever stopped creating she would surely perish. If she's not reading or writing classical poetry, you can find her bird-watching, listening to music or making a mean cocktail. She'll be getting married this August and it's been a pleasure for Madeline to share the highs and lows of the planning process with her.
