Caroline and Maddie met in Atlanta, GA in August 2015 through pledging the same sorority at Georgia Tech. On August 23, 2015, they became friends by attending a fraternity event together that Katherine Sloan set up. After this, Katherine, Caroline, and Maddie became close friends at Georgia Tech.

During their sophomore year of college, Caroline and Maddie thought they could be more than friends. After being separated for their summer internships before junior year, they decided to make it official. On September 3, 2017, Caroline asked Maddie to be her girlfriend on top of the Atlanta ferris wheel. Over the next year, the pair were able to “come out” individually to many of their family members and close friends.

The pair has conquered much together including two years of long distance through the pandemic due to Maddie's job in Romania & Ohio. One of their favorite memories was when Maddie, with the help of Caroline’s family, surprised Caroline by coming home a week early from Romania after six months of long distance to spend Christmas 2019 together. After two continuous years of long distance, they finally broke the distance in July 2021 with Maddie moving to Houston, TX, where the two currently live.

On May 14, 2022, Caroline proposed to Maddie at South Padre Beach, TX at sunrise during a beach trip with their friend Katherine (yes - the same Katherine from the start of their story). Maddie also proposed the day they returned from the beach on top of a bridge in the Buffalo Bayou park, which is a park they often walk or bike through.

Caroline works in construction, and Maddie works in marketing. Together, they enjoy playing trivia on Tuesdays, hanging with their kittens (Ella & Fig), traveling, going on walks, and trying new coffee shops. We are so excited to see you on our big day!
