We met online—shoutout to Bumble! Funny enough, we were both close to deleting the app when we matched. After talking for a bit, we decided to go on a first date in May… though one of us (not naming names, but it wasn’t Bradley) secretly hoped it would get canceled. Spoiler: It didn’t. And thank goodness for that! Our date started at Buffalo Wild Wings, took an unexpected literary turn in the Meijer book section, and ended with a two-mile walk—where Bradley wore completely impractical shoes (in his defense, we did not plan on going for a 2 mile walk). Throughout the walk, he kept “accidentally” bumping into me and grazing my hand. His solution? Holding my hand to make it stop. Smooth, right? And just like that, we were off on our greatest adventure yet. ❤️
We spent the day in one of our favorite places—the Upper Peninsula—starting with a beautiful walk to Tahquamenon Falls. Afterward, we crossed back over the bridge to McGulpin Point in Mackinaw City. Now, Bradley isn’t exactly a master of secrecy, so I knew something was up. Actually, I had a feeling all week when he randomly suggested a trip Up North and then told me to “wear something nice” (which, if you know Bradley, is very out of character). As we walked toward what was supposed to be McGulpin Rock, Bradley turned me around, gave the sweetest speech, and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! It wasn’t until we got back to the car that he admitted… he actually had no idea where McGulpin Rock was. One day, we’ll find it. Maybe.
