Amtrak is an easy and comfortable way to travel to Washington, D.C., especially from cities along the East Coast. Trains arrive at Union Station in the center of D.C., with quick Metro or rideshare connections to Bethesda and the wedding events.

Flight

National Airport (DCA)

National Airport (DCA) is only about 5–7 miles away, making it the quickest and most convenient airport for getting to and from Bethesda. The other nearby airports are Dulles International (IAD)- much farther out in Virginia- and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI)- north of the city. Both are certainly still options depending on flight availability for arrivals / departures. Keep in mind that Friday night traffic around the D.C. area can be heavy, especially on the Beltway (I-495) and major arteries leading into and out of Bethesda. If you’re traveling on a Friday evening, it’s wise to allow extra time, as delays are common during those hours.
