In spring of 2013, Madi and Michael had a humanities lecture together. They sat a couple rows apart but didn't share a conversation until Michael asked Madi to a lunch date at Chili's. They stayed friends for a while, going out for sword fights at Walmart or dinners at Outback to complain about relationships. In summer of 2014, Madi took a trip to Hawaii with her best friend Fernanda and admitted she'd been developing a crush on Michael. When she sent him a picture of herself in a white dress, he said it'd make a great dress for their wedding, and she was hooked. That fall they dated and got into a relationship, and have been inseparable ever since. After graduating from UNC Asheville together, they moved in to their first apartment in Raleigh, adopted their beloved cats Boo Berry and Huckle Berry, moved to Cary, then up to Sun Prairie, then to their first house in Johnson Creek where they've lived happily since winter of 2021. They first discussed marriage shortly after getting in a relationship knowing early on that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. While they have had no question that this would be a forever partnership, they wanted to wait for the right time to have a wedding. They contemplated eloping out in Gatlinburg in the final year of college but decided they'd be better off waiting to make it official. And now, over a decade later, it's happening! They are very excited to be able to celebrate this occasion with friends and family and look forward to the most memorable day of their lives.
