Christopher and Madeleine met in New Mexico and built the foundation of their relationship despite hundreds of miles of desert between them. They spent many weeknights on the phone and every weekend on the road. They found inventive ways to do activities together even while apart and when together would explore the wilderness of the Rocky mountains or strange lands surrounding Albuquerque.

After doing a whirlwind trip to the East Coast to see both families for the holidays, we went to one of Madeleine's favorite places- Carlsbad Caverns! At 850' underground, next to breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites, and after a horrible pun, Christopher popped the question!
