Brendan and Madeleine first officially met at the very Cathedral they are to be married in. Without knowing the other, they both chose to attend then-Deacon Adam Frey's Ordination into the priesthood on Saturday, May 24th, 2025. The fated pair met on the back corner behind the church on the way to the reception, and their ensuing conversation was only interrupted when someone came by to clear the tablecloths, as the reception was close to empty! Four hours later, when Maddie was telling her mom about the man she had met earlier at the reception, she received a text from Brendan asking her on a proper date. The next Monday, just as at the reception, coffee became coffee and snacks, which became lunch, which became a walk downtown, which became a scavenger hunt at a local art installation, and ended with discussing British Literature and promising to see each other again soon. The rest of the story is woven from the same thread. Maddie and Brendan often share their Faith via the Sacraments and Mass, go on walks around local lakes and piers, and explore new hobbies together. On December 19th, 2025, after attending Adoration together, they were engaged on the exact same spot where they first met! Madeleine and Brendan will stay in the local area after their marriage and will move into their new home 10 minutes East of the Cathedral. They are thrilled to celebrate the Sacrament of matrimony, with now Fr. Frey as their celebrant, and begin the next chapter of their lives with you!
