Question

What about the Covid-19 elephant in the room?

Answer

As of June 15th, California has ‘officially opened up,’ meaning there are little to no restrictions across businesses, including weddings and receptions. That’s great news for those of us in the U.S.! However, we realize that the borders remain closed to most international travelers. As the situation is fluid and changes by the day, we plan to extend our RSVP date further into July. We’d love nothing more than to have everyone with us and are hoping positive news is on its way! We will continue to update guests with any and all relevant Covid-related information. This includes venue policies as well as federal, state, and city ordinances that impact our event.

Question

Help! I'm having trouble RSVPing online.

Answer

Email us at maddycharlie2021@gmail.com, and we'll help you out.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

This seems to be the million dollar question. For the Welcome Party, think semi-formal cocktail attire. It's an occasion to dress up, but a full length gown is definitely not necessary. LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. For our Wedding Day, wear your favorite formal cocktail attire. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. The ceremony and dinner reception will be taking place on a grassy field, so please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear. Dancing will be in the ballroom.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please check out our "Travel" page. We have two room blocks reserved at The London West Hollywood and the Mondrian LA in West Hollywood. Also consider booking an Airbnb... preferably with a pool. Note that both hotels allow for cancellations up to three days before check-in.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

LAX, baby. Depending on traffic, LAX is about a 25-45 minute taxi ride to West Hollywood. If you're staying closer to the beach, plan around a 20-minute drive to and from the airport. Note that you'll have to board a shuttle bus (or walk about 10 minutes) to the Uber and Lyft pick up area upon arrival.

Question

Which neighborhoods do you recommend?

Answer

According to the internet, LA is comprised of 472 neighborhoods. That's a lot of neighborhoods. Here's a handy article that will help you navigate this sprawling city: shorturl.at/byX36 Tl;dr Santa Monica + Venice = Beach West Hollywood = Central, Walkable, Many Bars and Restaurants, Hotel Location Silver Lake + Echo Park + Los Feliz = Hipper, Trendier, Wedding Location

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

We know this is much beloved topic of conversation for the British, so we'd be remiss not to include this in our FAQs. The weather here in August is hot. The sun is strong and SPF is recommended. However, it can cool down once the sun sets. Pack a hat for daytime and a sweater for nighttime.

Question

What's the deal with parking and transportation?

Answer

Parking is available but limited at The Paramour Estate. However, please consider taking an Uber / Lyft / taxi to the event. We will be providing continuous, end of night shuttles back to the London West Hollywood and Mondrian LA.

Question

Do you have any childcare recommendations?

Answer

The locals recommend WeeSitt (www.weesitt.com). They do one-time bookings and have fairly reasonable rates, especially if the sitter is watching more than one child.
