Will there be food and drinks at the Welcome Party?

Yes! We’ll have an open bar and hearty appetizers, so please come hungry.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. We recommend arriving by 5:30 pm to give yourself time to get settled and enjoy the grounds. Shuttle service will drop guests off at 5:30 pm.

Is transportation provided to the venue?

Answer

Yes — shuttles will be provided to and from the Crane Estate from these hotels: Boston Marriott Peabody (Peabody) Ocean House Hotel at Bass Rocks (Gloucester) Hotel at Cape Ann Marina (Gloucester) The shuttle schedule will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.

Can I drive to the wedding instead of taking the shuttle?

Yes. Parking is available at The Crane Estate for guests who prefer to drive.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is black-tie optional. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner will take place outdoors on the Crane Estate grounds, so guests should plan for walking on grass. We recommend shoe choices that are lawn-friendly.

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

Most of the evening will take place outdoors and under the tent. There will be heaters in the tent. The Great House will be open throughout the night, and dancing will take place inside. Since late September evenings can be cool on the North Shore, we recommend bringing a layer.

Can my children come to the events throughout the weekend?

No—all of our events are for adults only.

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We recommend renting a car to explore Cape Ann over the weekend. Shuttle service will be provided for Saturday evening, but having a car will make getting around easier. Guests can also take public transportation — the MBTA commuter rail runs from Boston (North Station) to Gloucester.
