In 2012, we met through a mutual friend (Savannah the “matchmaker”) at Walker High School. Sage was a 16 year old sophomore and I was a 16 year old Junior. We started hanging out more and more that year. He played football so our first date was to Wendys after a football game. We also went to the same church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs, LA where we had class every week to make our Confirmation sacrament. On November 3rd, 2012, we had to go on a church field trip to Angola Prison. My dad went with me and Sages mom with him, so they got to meet! We rode on a bus there and Sage and I sat together. He shared his head phones with me and we listened to music. We had a great day together but everyone was in a rush to get home because, it was LSU/BAMA game day!! We had to watch the game. Sage ended up coming to my house to watch it. When the game was over, he whispered in my ear, “Does somebody want to be my girlfriend?” And I smiled and said yes. 8 years later, here we are engaged to be married!! ❤️
In 2019 I participated in the Disney College Program. I got to go work and live at Disney World for 5 months!! During that time, Sage came to visit me in March. I had a whole week of Disney events planned for us! On the first day, he arrived later in the afternoon so we had dinner at The Grande Floridian hotel with Cinderella and Prince Charming! We then took a stroll around the hotel which had become one of my favorite places to visit, its beautiful. The next day, we went to Universal Studios! I had never been before, it was super fun. Then, the day was here, March 8th, 2019 we went to Epcot! My favorite park and my home park I worked at. I was so excited to show him everything I’ve learned there. I knew something was strange that day, we decided to walk around the World Show Case first and our walk began very quiet. As we got to Germany, home to my favorite princess Snow White, my roommate Elizabeth was there! So suprised and confused we said hello and asked her she could take our picture at my favorite spot in all of Disney World, Snow Whites wishing well. So we took some pictures and then Elizabeth said, now do a silly one. Then Sage said “hows this for a silly one” he got down on one knee and said “will you marry me?”. Of course I said YES! A few people walking by clapped it, Elizabeth was stunned as she tried to get the perfect shot. It was perfect. We spent the rest of the day just the two of us exploring Epcot and taking as many proud pics as we could with my ring in it. The next day, we went to The Magic Kingdom and took lots of pics. It was a magical time and it was very hard to say goodbye to him for another 2 months, but we survived!
