Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

Our venue is a SECRET! All we can tell you is that you will be completely blown away by our surprise venue. There will be a bus arriving at a designated meeting location to pick guests up before the ceremony. PLEASE NOTE: MISSING THIS BUS = MISSING THE WEDDING! There will be a shuttle service provided back to the meeting location whenever guests are ready to turn in for the night.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Don't forget your passport! If you are traveling to our wedding from the United States, you will need to apply for a valid USA passport. The six month passport rule states that your passport must be valid for another six months before you depart for international travel. Please double check to make sure your passport does not expire before March 30th, 2026, to be safe.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

Yes; you apply for this AFTER you've booked your airline ticket and hotel. Starting in 2025, all travelers from certain countries (including the U.S.) will need to apply for a short-stay visa to visit France. This new requirement applies to all stays under 90 days. You'll need to fill out an online application through the French government’s visa portal, provide necessary documents (like proof of accommodation and flight tickets). It's best to apply at least 3 to 6 months in advance to allow enough time for processing.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones to pieces! However, to create a more adult-oriented atmosphere for our celebration, we kindly request that only guests aged 15 and older attend. We appreciate your understanding and support, and encourage everyone to kick back, relax, explore, and enjoy their vacation to the fullest!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate our big day with our nearest and dearest, and hope to keep our wedding celebration as intimate as possible. Unfortunately, we will only be allocating arrangements for those formally listed on your invitation. If you have received a plus one, they will be indicated on your invitation as well as appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our friends and family dress to impress! We are requesting a formal dress code for the evening with black tie optional and please, no jeans. Wear whichever color you feel best in, but please, no white.

Question

How do I access your registry?

Answer

We are requesting your presence at our big day; that alone is the greatest gift you could give us! We are so grateful for all efforts in joining us for our destination wedding celebration. So again, please, NO GIFTS!

Question

Do I have to utilize the group rates for airfare and hotel? What are group rates?

Answer

Nope! Group rates are special optional discounted rates that airlines and hotels offer when a large group of people book together for the same flight/hotel. Since many of our guests will be traveling to our wedding from the states, we are working to arrange these group rates to make your trip more affordable and convenient. Some guests may feel more comfortable flying from an airport of their choice, or staying in an airbnb. This is totally fine, as everyone has the freedom to choose whatever accommodations work best for them!

Question

How should I pack?

Answer

It's always best to carry on when traveling internationally since checked luggage can be temporarily lost. If this happens, you will likely be without your bag(s) for several days. We recommend guests to carry on all essential items such as changes of clothes, toiletries, and medications. We recommended bringing swimsuits, good walking shoes (you'll be walking A LOT) and a big appetite! :)

Question

Do you have any tips for traveling internationally?

Answer

Yes! As seasoned international travelers, we have lots of tips to make your trip go smoothly. - Wash your hands OFTEN in airports and on planes. Being sick would ruin your vacation. - Try your best to sleep on the plane; it will make it easier to adjust to the time change. - Eat bland foods such as pasta in the nights leading up to your flight. -Have your passports secured but ready at all times; you'll need them before departure and after arrival. - Drink LOTS of water!

Question

What is the weather in France like in September?

Answer

In September, our city typically enjoys warm and pleasant weather. Average daytime temperatures range from 72°F to 79°F, with cooler evenings around 63°F. While it's generally sunny, there's a chance of occasional rain, so it's a good idea to bring a light jacket or umbrella just in case.

Question

What if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be sincerely missed! Please RSVP "Will not attend". If you have already RSVP'd "Attending", but find yourself unable to make it, please notify Maddy (941)-961-0759.

Question

What currency is used in France and how can I get it?

Answer

The currency used in France is the Euro (€). You can easily order Euros from your local bank before you travel. Additionally, you can exchange currency at various locations in France, such as at currency exchange offices, ATMs, or even at UTC Mall. We recommend having around €100 in smaller bills (such as €10 and €20 notes) for shopping, tips, or small purchases. This can be very handy for local markets, cafes, or any places that don’t accept card payments. While most places in France accept credit or debit cards, it's always a good idea to carry some cash for small purchases or places that may not accept cards. Many smaller shops, cafes, and markets prefer cash payments.

Question

Can I exchange unused Euros back?

Answer

Absolutely! If you don’t end up using all of your Euros, they can easily be exchanged back to your home currency at banks or currency exchange offices.

Question

Are there any "social rules" in France that I should be aware of?

Answer

YES. We have put together five main ones. 1. Bathrooms are not free, unless you are paying a business for their services. This includes stores, restaurants, train stations, etc. Never pass up a restroom opportunity if you are buying something from someone. 2. Many businesses such as stores and restaurants close daily for 1-3 hours for lunch. 3. Be wary of strikes; the French strike often so plans frequently get changed. This includes trains, busses, airports, etc., so be prepared to be flexible if this happens! 4. Fermeture exceptionnelle: Be prepared for abnormal closing of businesses, regardless of the owner's reasoning (they will put a sign on the door if this happens) 5. France is VERY dog friendly, which is super cool! The only issue with this is - they aren't very good at picking up after their pooches. Be sure to watch where you step when exploring!

Question

Is uber available in France?

Answer

Yes! If you plan on utilizing uber during your stay, ensure that you have your uber account set up and ready to go before you travel!

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please reach out to Maddy or Alex with any allergy-related concerns or requests.
