As we all know, Grant and Maddy have both been around drag racing for years, so of course that is how they met! It was an end of the year racing banquet where Grant came with his friends and Maddy was there with her friends & family and they ended up talking and hanging out for the first time at the banquet. We really need to thank our friends Brianna & Jace for just leaving Grant there at the end of the night (because he didn’t want to leave yet), so Maddy got stuck giving Grant a ride home haha! After that we ended up hanging out more often & eventually started dating!

Grant proposed to Maddy on December 22nd, 2021 in Cancun, Mexico. Maddy and Grant were in Cancun with Maddy’s family and Grant thought that would be the perfect place to propose to Maddy. Maddy and her family left the night before to head to Chicago to stay in a hotel close to the airport and Grant left early morning the next day to meet us at the airport! He said he left so early, he almost forgot to bring the ring!! Once we got to the airport, Grant got stopped in security and they were searching his bag which had the ring in it so him and my mom were secretly freaking out!! Turns out he just couldn’t bring his full size shampoo bottle haha! A few days into the trip we go out on a super pretty pier to take family pictures and then Grant proposes to Maddy. It was such a perfect place & time!
