Jesse and I met in the summer of 2013. I was 16 and he was 18. I got a job at the Englewood Fun Center where Jesse was the Putt Putt manager LOL. A couple weeks into my new job Jesse said there was some kittens under the mini golf bridge. We rescued the little kittens and I told jesse that I would find them a home. Well later that night I texted Jesse lying that I found the kittens a home.. When really they were in my dad's barn.. After long talks, dates, begging my dad to let me date him, getting a dog and then another, moving in together, vacations and memories.. The rest is history. December 20th, 2020 was the day. My mom and I made plans to make christmas cookies and then go to Carillon Park to take pictures of the kids by the tree lights. Jesse had plans to help his parents with some house work. I should have known from the beginning something was up because my mom kept asking me about how I use my gel nail kit and if I could show her by doing my nails instead of cleaning up our cookie mess lol. Then again when she asked me if I was going to put jeans and makeup on for when we go to Carillon Park.. I kept saying I am not getting my picture made so what's the big deal. Boy was I wrong. Jesse came and picked me up from my moms to head to Carillon Park. Still didn't think anything of anything lol. Once we got to the top of the hill where the tree lights were, I started taking pictures of my siblings, mom and stepdad. Then my sister takes my camera and starts taking random pictures and then says "Okay Maddi and Jesse say cheese...." At that moment I knew I should have listened to my mom and put more makeup on haha. Then out the corner of my eye I saw Jesse's parents, his brother and wife and my dad, stepmom and Jesse on one knee. Our whole family got to witness one of the happiest moments of our lives. It was perfect! Everytime I think about that day I just get butterflies!
