Funnily enough, Maddie & Matt were actually on dates with other people with a group of friends from Maddie's dorm at Texas A&M University when they met! The group decided to go bowling and eventually when it was Maddie's turn to bowl, Matt ended up "borrowing" her 8lb pink bowling ball and claimed it was the only way he could get a strike! By the end of the night it was clear they had hit it off, but Maddie never imagined she would fall in love with the guy who stole her bowling ball that day! On February 3rd, 2017 Matt asked Maddie to be his girlfriend after months in the friend zone. BEST. DECISION. EVER!

For their 1st anniversary, Matt & Maddie took a trip to Houston, TX to visit the city and enjoy a trip away from homework and tests! They visited the Museum of Natural Science and they fell in love with the Cockrell Butterfly Center. For their 3 year anniversary in February of 2020, Matt took Maddie back to the same butterfly garden in the early morning when no one else was around, and popped the question in front of a beautiful waterfall surrounded by butterflies. The rest is history!

Currently, Matt is a 6th-grade Honors Math Teacher at Salado Middle School - the same district Maddie grew up in. Maddie is currently a Search Engine Marketing Specialist at a marketing agency in Austin. They live in Georgetown with their two cats, Ragamuffin & Arabella, and are loving every second of it! Counting the days to Mr & Mrs. Steinohrt!
