In the early days of 2019, Maddie and her best friend, Elizabeth, started the Tour of Beers at the Winking Lizard. Every Wednesday, they would go have a few beers and some lizard freckles, because that's when the cute bartender, Will, was working. After weeks of flirting over the bar, they finally bonded over a night of Karaoke at Corky's, where Will wooed her with his rendition of Usher's "Nice and Slow." Maddie was so impressed that she let Will take her on a date to Brewnuts, where their shared love of donuts and beer would really kick start their love story.

After an afternoon shift at work, an unsuspecting Maddie walked in the door of their home to flowers and donuts, from, of course, Brewnuts. When she opened the box the donuts read "Marry Me?" and when Maddie turned around and Will was on one knee. Maddie of course said yes, to the donuts, and to Will.
