The DeHaven Wedding

The way i tell it: Nick from Montana and me being from New Jersey somehow a small moment and a big decision we both ended up in Columbus Ohio. Our family had purchased a home in worthington that was in desperate need of upgrades. After a few really really “small world” Instances i came across Nicks construction company on Facebook and messaged him to see if he could help us. And he did, project after project for about a year and a half. A long time coming dilema in my life had ended and we became really good friends, and it wasnt too long after that i fell in love with him. We were finishing up the kitchen (which was the last project for a while). I had run out of projects and excuses to see him and i realize i didnt want to loose him. Even though he was working on ever aspect on the house he had somehow made a place for himself in our family. I looked forward to him walking through the door everyday and the girls looked through the window for him expecting to see his truck pull in. The way they ran to him open arms bring bookes and toy wanted to be thrown in the air kick a ball and stop his work day to dance to frozen….i knew then i could never let him go.

Maddie sent a message to my company asking for a quote to build a deck. I came to her house to discuss the project and actually ended up meeting her mother, Suzanna. After they accepted a few weeks later I started building. Throughout this project I had handful of interactions with Maddie. I remember thinking wow she is gorgeous! After I finished the deck, we would send texts back and forth about other projects for her home. I came back in October do stairs on a different deck we had built. The next year I get called back to her house for miscellaneous projects, and in January I started a massive kitchen remodel. While it took months to complete, I got to bond with maddie and it grew greater and greater. On my lunch break I would eat with maddie and the kids. I remember feeling butterflies when I would go to work or look at my schedule and see maddie address on it. On March 21, 2021, Maddie took the bold move to kiss me. I was in completly in shock as I kissed her back. We began we fall in love; our connection was evident! We would talk on the phone for hours at night and on June 13 2021 we went out to dinner little did she know I had a ring in my pocket after dinner we went to our favorite walking trail a bridge in Dublin in the middle of the bridge with strangers all around I got on one knee and asked maddie if she would marry me after several anxious seconds she said YES!!
