Maddie and Luke met in the midst of COVID. At the time they were pulled in different directions, but fate brought them back together. They had their first date in February at Asterisk in Uptown Westerville, the city in which they both grew up. Maddie walked in late (to the surprise of nobody) and Luke sat patiently sipping his drink. He would later comment that despite the mask, her smile still lit up her face and this remains one of his favorite memories. They sat in Asterisk for hours, and when it came time to get the check they hesitated. Neither of them wanted the date to end, so in the cold of an Ohio winter they decided to get ice cream. A simple walk for ice cream turned into an additional 2 hours of hearing all about each other. Since then, they have continued to build love in the little moments.
