Flashback to our freshman year Homecoming at Mizzou. A mutual friend of ours had been telling us that we would be great together, and we both thought there's no way this person we had known for 3 months would be right. She somehow managed to have us sit on either side of her at the Homecoming game and "conveniently" left during the first quarter. We ended up talking about our Fitbits and the rest is history!

M: I had just finished working 5 straight night shifts, so I was definitely not at the top of my game. Kale had told me earlier in the week that we were going to meet Brock and Baylee (his brother and sister-in-law) at Milo's on The Hill to play bocce ball. Seemed random, but who was I to decline his offer? So I agreed and he said he would pick me up after my nap when I finished my shift. I was barely ready when he arrived and he quickly rushed me out of the door. K: As I am rushing her out the door, I ask her to pull up directions. Good thing she is terrible at them so it would be unsuspecting if we "missed any turns." I pull up to the spot and park quickly, hoping she wouldn't notice that we had parked further away. We get out of the car and start walking. Maddie is, of course, talking my ear off, so I make a point to gesture to her right. M: I notice St. Ambrose and exclaim: "It's St. Ambrose! My parents got married there and I was baptized there. It would be so cool if we got married there too!" K: Now I know that she has no idea. I walk up toward the steps and she asks me if I want to go inside. I agree, and as she is fumbling in her purse, I pull out the ring, get down on one knee, and I ask her to spend the rest of our lives together. M + K: We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with you all, and we cannot express how grateful we are for all of your love and support throughout our journey to 8.6.22!!
