Julio and Maddie met in November of 2020 via Twitter. Julio had posted a funny tweet (which was his usual) and Maddie found it funny so she liked it. The story unravels from there. They had their first date at the Ashokan reservoir on November 14th, 2020. Both lovers of photography, they spent the afternoon shooting photos of the landscape while getting to know one another. They ended the evening talking over pizza, and discussing how insane it was that Julio does not have an inner monologue. Five years later on that exact day, the couple returned to that same reservoir in the same spot. Julio had gotten down on one knee and proposed! Rather than pizza, the couple had celebrated the new milestone with close family at one of their favorite restaurants, Ms. Lucy’s in Saugerties, NY. Maddie and Julio’s relationship has journeyed through a global pandemic, two years of long distance, two years of city living, and two cats. They share a strong love for family, friends, traveling, laughing, the Buffalo Bills, and of course, each other. We are so excited to share this next milestone of our relationship with our dearest friends and family.
