Touring the monuments and checking out the National Mall is a great way to see some of DC's highlights. Most of the monuments are open 24 hours, and they are especially fun to see at night. No need to hire a tour guide - they are easily walkable and all free!
This is our favorite neighborhood of DC! We recommend walking around the quaint streets (where lots of our engagement pictures were taken) and checking out M Street for some shopping and great food. Chez Billy Sud is a family favorite restaurant and Il Canale has great pizza and pasta. We also highly recommend the Georgetown Piano Bar for some dueling pianos and a fun night out.
A vibrant, newer area of DC that's along the Potomac River. There's some great restaurants and bars here. This neighborhood is close to the Spy Museum, which we'd also recommend visiting!
Maddie's favorite museum in DC. Along with all Smithsonian Museums, it's free! Open 7 days a week from 10:00am until 5:30pm.

All about the world of spying. Throughout your visit, you'll get a chance to see what it's like to be a spy and test out your skills. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance. You will need about 2 hours to explore the museum. Open from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Visit the Georgian-style mansion of Marjorie Post, who was a collector if incredible art, tapestries, faberge eggs, jewels, and more. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets required. This museum is not too far from the National Zoo and the esteemed Kalorama neighborhood of DC.
Historic district on the Potomac Waterfront marked by cobblestone streets and 18th-century townhouses. Stroll down King Street and explore dozens of independently owned restaurants and boutiques. Be sure to check out the Spite House, the skinniest historic house in America at just 7 feet wide!
