Davis and I met our sophomore year in college at UW-Oshkosh. We had just moved into a brand new dorm building and Davis, who knew one of my roommates, came down to see our suite-style dorm. I thought he was so cute and the next day I went to my mom to show her all of his Facebook pictures. For weeks I called him my boyfriend behind his back until one day (November 7, 2012) he finally asked me to be his real girlfriend. The rest is history!
After bothering Davis for months about when we would get engaged, I (Maddie) thought I pretty much had the date figured out: it would happen the first week of May. So when Davis asked me to go on our last date as boyfriend and girlfriend, I didn't think much of it. When I got home from work that rainy Friday (a rarity in Denver but some of my favorite kinds of days), Davis told me to put on something nice and that he already had plans for dinner. When we pulled up to the Dairy Block in downtown, I was confused because we go there literally every weekend because it's our favorite. As we strolled through the alley, Davis stopped and turned to me to ask, "How about if we make this our first date as an engaged couple instead?". As he got down on one knee I noticed out of the corner of my eye that both of our families were walking towards us which was so surreal! Davis also hired a photographer to catch all of the action and you can find these pictures on our Photos page.
