We met four years ago in September 2015—Maddie, a Chicago native, and Chuck, a Bostonian living in Chicago. 

We had our first date at Lux Bar…Chuck was 30 minutes late. 
He made up for it on our third date…when he drove up to the suburbs to have Thanksgiving dinner with Maddie’s family and family friends. Bold. 

But it worked.
