The Story Of Us

How We Met and the Sparks Flew Instantly

We crossed paths at the AMC theater where we both worked. Despite our initial shyness, our friends played matchmakers and sent some of our first texts. Sean mustered up the courage to ask me out during a shift, and my playful response of "I'll think about it" momentarily threw him off. However, as he started to walk away, I couldn't resist teasing and quickly said "I'm kidding, yes yes yes!" Now, here we are, six years later, still going strong.

Petals, Candles, and Champagne

A Surprise Proposal on a Bittersweet Day

Suspicion hung in the air as Sean, harboring secrets for weeks, diverted his attention from my work station to our friend Apple and his work station. The mysterious shift in his behavior became more pronounced, leaving me curious and uneasy. The turning point arrived with my father's birthday, a poignant occasion after losing him earlier that year. Sean suggested a weekend getaway to celebrate my dad's birthday and rented a hotel for the occasion. Despite the heaviness of the day, we checked into the hotel, and reservations for a special dinner awaited us. Throughout the meal, Sean's demeanor was oddly shy, though I didn't dwell on it. We shared an exquisite dinner, reminiscing about my late father. After dinner, as we headed back to the hotel, a call disrupted our evening – we had forgotten the flowers Sean bought for the table. Despite the hiccup, we proceeded to the hotel, where I walked into a charmingly decorated room. Apple and Sean's sister Kiera (But, let's be honest she's more like my sister) had adorned it with petals, candles (unlit per the hotel's rules), and champagne. As I took in the romantic setup, Sean seized the moment, dropping to one knee. Stunned, I could only manage a resounding "YES! YES! YES!" Sean, in his excitement, closed the ring box without slipping the ring onto my finger, creating a playful joke that echoed through the years. On that day, Sean transformed what could have been a somber occasion into a memory I would cherish forever.
