A forgiving wave that backs up to Pismo cliffs is a beautiful spot to catch a few gentle summer waves. A top spot of ours to surf in SLO County.
We love beach-combing, and the area is known for it's rare Big Sur jade! We suggest driving Highway 1 to enjoy the view and look for little areas to pull off and do some searching.

A famous castle in San Luis Obispo County. They are known for their exotic animals and extravagant decorations - keep an eye out for the zebras! If you work for California State Parks, talk to a supervisor about getting a free pass!
Grab some food at the Hidden Kitchen in Cayucos. The breakfast tacos are bomb and it's a great option for healthy, light meals.
Check out the shipwreck in Estero Bluffs State Park with a great view of Morro Rock. This was also a favorite surf spot of Maddi's during her time at Cal Poly SLO. Just south of Cayucos and the ship wreck is a dog beach for all the furry friends.
Grab a latte at Kreuzberg and walk around downtown San Luis Obispo. Those who spent time with Maddi in SLO knows she loves a good dirty chai, and this place makes the BEST dirty chai.
