Austin and I met in person December 6th, 2019 at Downtown Grill and Brewery. This was our first date and official public meet, as we had matched earlier that year on Bumble. Yes, the dating app, while I had a packed day little did I know had just been late for a date with my future husband. So, just for some fun the back story on that day I also had a job interview. To move from my med-surg nursing job to surgery and then a lunch date with Austin. Well I didn't get the job, but landed a pretty perfect catch. After being a few minutes late, I found myself laughing and walking, not wanting the date to end.
Soon after the hecktic holiday season, I wanted to go see the lights in Gatlinburg before they were taken down. It was freezing, but we enjoyed the sites anyway. We had come for the skybridge specifically and road the ski lifts to the top enjoying the sites. Once we arriving at the top we crossed the bridge, it began to snow looking like a winter wonderland. I know it wasn't planned out but it was with the snow. bitter wind and the magical sites that Austin asked me to be his girlfriend and I haven't looked back.
If you know Austin at all you know he is introverted as they come. So I knew that my engagement wouldn't be at a restaurant or anything with a group of people to see. So when we started talking about it and hikes I gave him a list, being him he didn't go off the list and picked Mt. Leconte via Alum Cave, but we weren't going to finish and go to Mt. LeConte we were going to a bluff that wasn't a real trail lol. So we hiked 8 miles prior to Austin realizing this and deciding to go back, when in the most romantic words ever were spoken, well I guess I better do this now. He asked me to marry him next to the river, and I can't wait to in September! oh how I love my introvert
