Just under five years ago we were introduced through a mutual friend one summer night a few short weeks before we were back to school. The night we met was innocent with a pinch of flirtation. We both were not looking for a relationship at the time but once we hit it off, we never looked back. A few weeks after we first were introduced, Maddie went on a trip to Florida and we found ourselves texting and calling nonstop the entire time. In that time we opened up to each other in ways we had never done before. Once Maddie was back in town, we met up that day at Lowenstein park. On a bench at the center of that park we shared our first kiss. From there we would soon say "I Love You" for the first time on that bench and also say "Yes" to forever on that bench.
Just after the COVID-19 pandemic swept the country, shutting down every public place in sight, and separating family and friends, Kerry decided to pop the question. He invited my mom, dad, sister, and photographer roommate to our favorite place, the center bench in Lowenstein Park. As we walked down the trail to the park I started to catch on to what was going on. We finally made it to our bench, and sat down. A few short seconds later and we were engaged! It was a beautiful moment because I had been unable to see my family due to the pandemic, this was the first time I was able to see them in months. It was a perfect day in a not-so perfect world!
