Once arriving in Jamaica, we will need to be transported to the resort. The Montego Bay airport is 1.5 hours from the resort. Transportation options are 1. CocoLaPalm Transportation Services 2. Private Transfer Via Viator.com 3. Taxi (ONLY use those with red license plates - government registered) 4. Car rental (drive on left side in Jamaica) We will be assuming everyone will be wanting to split the cost of the Cocolapalm transportation. Everywhere in Negril will take US dollars, you will not need to do any currency exchange. The JA dollar (JMD) is less than a penny in US dollar. For example you may see a price tag of $3,168.45 JMD that is $10.00 USD. Most of the places you will go (except the HI-LO store) will have both prices posted. But the prices of goods are basically the same as here. We recommend to bring cash for things such as tipping, beach vendors, etc. But JA does accept our credit and debit cards. REMEMBER to let your credit card company know that you will be traveling internationally so they don't block your card when trying to use it.

Jamaica does not stock American beers and only has a few American liquors. However, when you arrive at the airport in JA, just before the baggage claim, there is a duty free shop where you can purchase American booze. We would suggest stopping here if that is what you want for your room. Past trips we were able to have transport stop at the local HI-LO grocery just minutes before the resort. There you can purchase snacks, beer (Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light), Water, Juice, and mixers etc. for your room. There is small refrigerators in the rooms. There is also a bar and grille at the resort.
