ASHLEY: We met in 2009 in Louisville at school. She lived across the hall from me in the dorm. The funny thing was she was supposed to be my roommate but her then bestfriend pulled some strings to get her placed in her room. The first time we talked was the night of the Winter Formal at our school. I was doing some other girl's hair for the dance and Sable came up to me and asked me to do her hair. I said no because she had way too much hair and I didn't have enough time. Afterwards I went to the dance (by myself) and Sable left to go to the dance (with her date). At the dance I took a seat to cool down from dancing. Next thing I knew here comes Sable sitting down beside me and grabbing my hand. I quickly snatched my hand back and told her "I don't touch people's hands because I don't know what they be doing with them." Then she asked for my number, even though we lived right across the hall from one another and the rest is history. SABLE: We met in 2009 at a school dance. I was with a group of people. When I finally seen her alone I made my move. I grabbed her hand and introduced myself. She pulled her hand away but I wasn't even bothered. I still walked away with her number in my phone.
ASHLEY: I knew Sable was the one I never wanted to be without in October 2013. We were both on the brink of losing everything including one another's love and somehow I knew I would be alright with losing material things but I didn't think I could emotionally deal with losing Sable. SABLE: I knew Ashley was the one around August 2013. Up to this point, I'd had a good feeling about Ashley. There was a natural comfort between us I'd never felt with anyone else. We'd had our fair share of ups and downs but this particular time was unusually challenging. It could have been easy to walk away but instead we started talking. I was able to open up to her in ways I never had before. I realized she was truly one of a kind. She's loving, she's kind, she's super supportive and she makes me a better person.
ASHLEY: Sable proposed to me January 1, 2014 at 12:00 A.M. We'd decided to stay home with Waylon, our dog, and watch the countdown and ball drop on MTV while my parents went to church. I was excited to stay home because I knew this was "the night." At least in my head I was sure it was, and to my surprise I was right! When the clock struck 12:00 and the ball dropped Sable pulled me up from the couch and she got down on one knee and popped the question. In the midst of my joy and excitement somehow I still heard Waylon barking in the background. I'm not sure if Waylon's barking was his attempt to share in our joy and excitement or if he was just agitated by the noise of the New Year's fireworks and shotgun blasts. Of course I said yes and now here we are 6 YEARS LATER!!!! SABLE: I was excited, nervous, and a little sweaty but I felt an eerie sense of calm when I looked in her pretty brown eyes. I got down on one knew right at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2014 and when she said yes it was the happiest day of my life.
ASHLEY: The thing I'm most looking forward to on our Wedding Day is our First Look before the ceremony. It will be the first glimpse of truly looking into my future. SABLE: I am most looking forward to seeing Ashley walk down the aisle in the beautiful dress I know she'll be wearing. The thought of her coming to meet me at the altar and us beginning this next chapter of our life together fills my heart with so much joy. I am also looking forward to the party of the century celebrating our new marriage and the photo sessions that will capture the love we feel on that day and always.
