It was a hot summer day in July and Madalyn was excited to head over to Highland Elementary School in Midland Park where she landed her first teaching job as a fourth grade special education teacher. When reviewing her schedule with the school principal a young man (Christian) walked into his office asking the principal to "golf" soon. Little did Christian know, (which he did) Madalyn was in there and was eager to introduce himself. After telling his sister, Katie that day about Madalyn he was excited to talk to her again. Weeks later, Christian was assigned to teach Madalyn's homeroom for Health. After the class periods bell rang he got the courage to ask her to go out with a few co-workers and later to a charity soccer game! Their third date landed them at a Yankees playoff game where he then knew, she was a keeper. Over four years later and they're still adding to their love story.

Like any other couple, Madalyn and Christian wanted to get out of their condo in Mahwah and go on vacation during the summer of 2020. After all, virtual teaching for 16 weeks? It was well-deserved. Christian had mentioned the surprise mid-quarantine! Ecstatic was an understatement. Although, the virus was not getting any better and Christian had to cancel the trip. BUT did he? Weeks later, Christian and Madalyn did in fact head to HHI! The two took the 12 hour road trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Little did Madalyn know that this was more then just a regular vacation. Christian had planned a private sunset boat tour around the Calibogue Sound where the proposal would happen on a small sandbar. Waterworks instantly ensued from Madalyn and luckily there was a resounding YES in between the happy tears. The happy couple then celebrated at a steakhouse in Sea Pines while face timing family!
