It was the start of the pandemic, everything had shut down. Ryan found himself with a lot of extra time on his hands and Macy found herself without a gym. We both started hiking. We met online (Match.com) and matched on April 30th. I (Macy) was honestly over the start of the online dating (lots of stupid random questions, why do I need to know everybody’s favorite color, favorite food, and favorite trip?) We matched that evening and had a date set for Sunday by the end of the conversation. Ryan suggested Ute Canyon Trail, I had never been, I was slightly overwhelmed when I arrived… early, as always, and found out it was a 10 mile hike rated “difficult”. Ryan was late, as always. He suggested we hike 30 or so minutes in and out. 10 miles and 5 hours later we finished that first date. We have been together since.
Two weeks and six days after I met Ryan I told my Matron of Honor, and Sister in Law Jenni that I was going to marry Ryan. She told me to chill out 😂 I only had to wait 531 days for the engagement day. We were in Ouray on a 4 wheeling trip, he waited until the end of the day (I am sure a very long day) he found the perfect cliff overlooking a beautiful valley and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together.
