Just a few weeks later, after Macy’s softball season had wrapped up, she drove down to Oklahoma City, where Michael was playing that week. They shared their first date at a Mexican restaurant over margaritas and tacos. Macy was immediately endeared by Michael’s charm and kind heart, while Michael was drawn to Macy’s smile and vibrant personality. Despite their instant connection, the two were cautious about diving into a long-distance relationship. A couple of weeks later, Macy moved to Los Angeles for a summer internship. Coincidentally, that same weekend, Michael was called up to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They went on another date that confirmed their spark was something that could continue to last a lifetime. From then on, Macy frequently found herself flying across the country to visit Michael wherever his team was playing. Michael found himself looking forward to the next time Macy was coming to visit. In 2024, Michael and his team won the World Series in New York City against the Yankees. A few months later, Macy had a work trip to New York, and the two traveled there together. On Friday, December 6th, they, along with one of Macy’s best friends (who just happened to be in the city on a family vacation), wandered the streets of New York, admiring all the Christmas lights. They decided to take a walk through Central Park, expecting to see more lights, only to find the park was completely dark. Since they were already there, Macy suggested they visit the bridge where Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl had gotten married. When they arrived, they found themselves alone in front of the stunning bridge, accompanied only by a violinist playing Christmas music. In the midst of New York's hustle and bustle, the scene felt like a peaceful, romantic escape. It was there, under the bridge, with the sound of Christmas music in the air, that Michael proposed to Macy. The moment was nothing short of magical - a quiet, intimate night amidst the holiday magic of New York City. Macy and Michael both ended 2024 with rings in the city!
