Flying to New Zealand

If you are flying into Auckland first, you will pick your bags up and go through customs and biosecurity at the Auckland airport and then walk or bus to the Domestic terminal and re-check your bags for your next flight. Plan for a minimum of two and a half hours between flights.

Getting to Wanaka

There are two different airports to fly into depending on how you are organizing your trip. If you are travelling straight to Wanaka, the best airport to fly into is Queenstown (ZQN)- 1 hour drive to Wanaka. If you are doing a roadtrip around the South Island, you might also consider flying into Christchurch (CHC) - 5 hour drive to Wanaka. We strongly recommend renting a car and touring around the South Island the days before or after the wedding.

Accommodations

We have two hotel room blocks at The Luna Lodge and Belvedere Apartments, which are only one block away from each other in downtown Wanaka. Each one has a combination of studio, 1- bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments and prices per night vary depending on type of room. A shuttle will take guests to and from the suggested hotels on the wedding day. The night before event at the Wanaka bowling club and the Wanaka A and P show on Saturday are within walking distance of both hotels.
