Join us in the special moment Jack knelt down to ask for Macys hand in marriage!

How we met

Luck or Fate?

It all started with an Instagram follow—Macy followed Jack first as she was trying to build her online presence. At the time, Macy was working for a “totally not a pyramid scheme” selling hair products, and Jack figured the best way to shoot his shot was to make a purchase. Supporting Macys side hustle and secretly planning to ask her out on to dinner or coffee. What started as a product order turned into a conversation, and that conversation turned into something neither of them expected—something real, rooted, and beautiful.

Our First Date

Food is a love language

Jack built up the courage to ask Macy out to dinner where he planned to pick her up and eat at Don’s Seafood in Gonzales, LA on Veterans Day. Turns out, so did everyone else—place was packed. They called an audible and ended up at Mike Anderson’s. Jack didn't know at the time, but Mike Andersons just so happened to be one of Macys favorite restaurants. Coincidence? Maybe. But it felt a lot like fate. Jack and Macy sat there for hours, closing the place down just talking about life. Where they grew up. The people they knew. What they wanted for their futures. It felt like talking to someone they had always known. Bye the end of the dinner the second date was already planned!

The Proposal

Waterfall

Jack had his proposal all planned out. He stashed the ring in a sock in his carry-on bag—completely unsuspecting and low-key. The original plan was to propose in Quebec City, overlooking a stunning terrace with views of the river and the iconic Fairmont Hotel. But after scouring the internet and consulting with our amazing photographer, Jack decided on Montmorency Falls instead. Little did Macy know that when they first drove into Quebec and admired those beautiful waterfalls—everyone pointing and saying, “Look how pretty!”—this would be the very spot where Jack would propose just a few days later. The drive to the falls from the Fairmont Hotel was interesting to say the least. The instructions in Canada aren't as clear as one might think, luckily, there was a Gondola that brought people from the top of the falls to the bottom where the big moment was. Jack was able to sneak the ring ever so slightly from his mom and put it in his back pocket before Macy and him walked to the rocks beneath the falls for "pictures." Jack got down on one knee and asked Macy to marry him... she said YES!! Jack and Macy then facetimed and called all of their closest friends and family to let them know!
