We are a conventional example of college sweethearts whose love story blossomed at Georgia State University (GSU). Brandon played football for Georgia State University as a tight end while Macy volunteered with various organizations on campus such as College Girls Rock, HER Campus, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Our paths first crossed in the fall of 2016 when we both received the same assignment in Professor Shapiro’s Policing and Individual Rights class. We officially met in another course in the following semester, Spring 2017. It was yet again another course taught by Professor Shapiro, American Courts. Once Macy stole Brandon’s seat in class, the rest is history. It was clear that our initial interaction laid the groundwork for our future together. As time progressed, we developed a friendship and became a couple shortly after in 2017. Our relationship developed over time; studying together, attending events, supporting each other through academic challenges, and even working together. After our breakup in 2019, we reconnected in 2021. This opportunity allowed us to spend more time together, leading to deeper conversations and reflecting on shared experiences. Our dating experience boosted our connection, rekindled romance, and provided space for us to have fun when adulting gets overwhelming. Brandon admired Macy’s ambitious spirit and integrity, while Macy appreciated Brandon’s curiosity and ability to connect with people effortlessly. After several years of dating, we decided to take our relationship to the next level. Brandon proposed on July 26, 2024 in front of close friends and immediate family, marking a significant milestone in our love story. Our proposal was not just a celebration of our love but also an acknowledgment of how far we had come and a testament to our core values. Our college experience not only brought us together but also shaped us into who we are today—supportive partners who cherish each other’s strengths and values. Now engaged, we reflect on how our love grew over time through shared experiences, mutual support, and personal growth. We can’t wait to get married and start a new chapter.
