Abby and Christian met through a mutual friend while having dinner at a local gastropub called Common Theory. It wasn’t love at first sight, but after some deep conversations later Christian expressed his interest for Abby to their mutual friend the next day. Since Abby lived in Orange County that time, the two decided to stay in touch and went on their first date nearly two months later. Christian briefly moved to Seattle, Washington at the beginning of 2015 which prompted Abby to go visit him a few months after for her 25th birthday. On March 26, 2015, Christian asked Abby to be his girlfriend during their stay in Portland, Oregon. She was initially unsure about it, but after some reflecting she decided to give their relationship a chance and the rest was history.

On May 23, 2021, Christian and Abby were in the middle of their 6th year anniversary photoshoot when he surprised her with a long awaited proposal. The proposal took place at Iron Mountain trailhead located in Poway, CA. It was one of the first hiking trails the couple went on during the early stages of their relationship. The photographer, Sammy Noelle, asked Abby to turn towards the meadows so that Christian will give her a “monster hug.” Abby thought nothing of such a request, but was told to turn back around for a different pose. Once she saw Christian down on his knee with a ring box in hand, she immediately bursted to tears for the surprise. Instead of saying “yes,” Abby ended up saying “Ditto!” It was a word he often said to her when having a mutual agreement on everything. The couple are beyond thrilled for this new chapter in their lives and look forward to the day they officially say “I Do.”
