Fear not, see below for your options of how to get to Flagstaff. Bonus tip: we highly recommend driving through Sedona on your way to/from Phoenix. Flight
Some pros and cons if you choose to fly in through this airport: Pro: You will land directly in Flag and get to skip the two-hour drive from Phoenix. Even though these flights tend to be more expensive sometimes you can find them for only a few more bucks than a flight to PHX. Your left buttcheek that fell asleep on the plane may thank you. Con: More expensive flight costs. Tiny, 2-gate airport in Flagstaff. If you do fly in here, flights usually stop in Phoenix, then you take another 20-minute flight up to Flagstaff. Choosing this airport also means you will miss the STUNNING drive through Sedona.
Travel Note
While you are welcome to rent a car in Phoenix, there are other ways to get to Flagstaff, too! Flag is a small town, so you can likely get by without a rental car once you're there if necessary. Our recommendations for transportation are as follows: 1) Carpool! Reach out to us to help set up carpooling with others traveling to Flag. Cheapest option for you and has less impact on the environment! 2) AZ shuttle- Picks up at the Phoenix airport, is comfortable, but is about $50/person each way. Book at https://groometransportation.com/arizona/ 3) Greyhound- Cheap option ($25ish/person each way) and the station is adjacent to the Phoenix airport. Not to mention it comes with all the great people-watching that is associated with Greyhound rides! Book at https://www.greyhound.com/en-us/bus-station-860431
