Groom
Whitney is an MD-PhD student at UCLA-Caltech. He hopes to become a restorative neurosurgeon alongside Mackinzie becoming an pediatric orthopedic surgeon. In his spare time (of which he has little), he enjoys trail running, exploring the outdoors, getting wrecked by trying to learn to surf, reading, and practicing piano. He looks forward to meeting all of the guests at the wedding, new and old acquaintances alike.
Mackinzie A Stanley
Bride
Mackinzie is a second-year medical student at California University of Science and Medicine and (tentatively) plans to become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon (although she is still open-minded about other medical specialities). In her spare time, Mackinzie enjoys yoga, exploring the outdoors, and reading. She is always up for new adventures, such as learning to surf. In their current house, Mackinzie is the main driving force behind their ornamental and edible garden plants. She likes to de-stress by walking barefoot through the garden and talking to the plants and occasional neighborhood cat.
Russell Griggs
Whitney's Best Person
Russell is Whitney's older brother and partner for two ascents of Mount Whitney (and maybe a partner for a future ascent of adjacent Mount Russell?). Russell first met Mackinzie while on the Montana State University cycling team during graduate school and riding with Whitman College in the Northwest Collegiate Cycling Conference. Russell enjoys running, biking, and cross-country skiing in Bozeman, MT.
Alexandra Stanley
Mackinzie's Best Person / Officiant
Alexandra, better known to many as Allie, is Mackinzie's favorite (only) sister. She met Mackinzie 25 years ago, just a few short hours after being born. Mackinzie brought Allie a black and white stuffed cow and they've been great friends ever since! Allie is currently a first-year law student at the University of Southern California. In her spare time, she loves finding local coffee shops, exploring the outdoor spaces LA has to offer (and trying not to spend too much time in traffic), and figuring out how to one day be a lawyer and a ski bum at the same time. In addition to being Mackinzie's best person, Allie has the honor of officiating Mackinzie and Whitney's wedding and couldn't be more excited about it!
Molly Blust

Molly met Whitney the first week of class at Whitman College and they spent the next four years sharing a major and racing together on the cycling team. It’s a wonder they aren’t sick of each other yet! The cycling team is also where Molly met Mackinzie. She has shared hours of laughter and adventures with Whitney & Mackinzie and can’t wait to celebrate their marriage! In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time outdoors and knitting.
Calvin Stanley
Mackinzie's Best Person
Calvin is Mackinzie’s least favorite brother (also her most favorite brother because he is her only brother). He met Mackinzie shortly after his birth 22 years ago and despite the six year age gap they’ve been great friends ever since. Calvin is currently working in cabinetry and loving finally being able to earn an income. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, running, following the NFL, and entertaining Rusty.

I met Whitney in my 7th grade English class. Our friendship started closer to "frenemies," competitively seeking the approval of our middle school's sternest teacher. A core memory is when Ms. Moore exclaimed to the entire class, "You know that some students will accomplish great things no matter what they decide to do with their lives." Then plopped down a perfectly scored paper onto Whitney's desk. Although I was jealous at the time, Ms. Moore was right. It's wild to say, but our friendship has lasted nearly two decades. It has involved many hours of Word Games on iMessage and conversations about big decisions and the mundane. Meeting Mackinzie was exciting, as Whitney always spoke about her. She felt familiar, like an old friend. But my guess is that she makes everyone feel that way.
Alberto Santos-Davidson

Alberto is a friend of Whitney and Mackinzie from Whitman College, where they were all on the cycling team together. Alberto still enjoys cycling but that pales in comparison to how much he enjoys teasing Whitney for running.
Rusty
Dog of Honor
Rusty first joined the Stanley family as a surgery recovery dog for Mackinzie and has since become an essential member of the family. Rusty initially was very wary of Whitney, welcoming him by barking at him for a solid 5-10 minutes whenever he would visit Fairfax. Over time, he came to like Whitney (especially the treats he would give), even though he remains frustrated that he cannot herd Whitney when Whitney runs away from the rest of the Stanley pack on hikes
