Andrew Farnham

and

MacKenzie Weinstein

January 28, 2023

Jamestown, NY

Our Love Story

At 5 years old, unbeknownst to both Andrew and MacKenzie, they sat right next to each other during beginner hockey pictures for the Jamestown Lakers. Shortly after the photographs were taken, MacKenzie quit hockey because what 5 year old girl wanted to sweat? Thankfully, Andrew continued playing and was joined by Noah, MacKenzie's little brother. Over the years they spent time together at hockey tournaments, games, and outings without even realizing what was in store. Middle school came around and they became best friends. The summer before sophomore year of high school, they sat together talking on the picnic table outside of Bridgeview, the gas station/convenience store in Bemus, while their friends were shopping inside. Later that night MacKenzie looked at her cousin, Jessie Rae, while walking down the street of Bemus and told her while smiling "I am going to marry that guy someday." By senior year of high school MacKenzie and Andrew figured out that they were meant to be together. After four years of long distance throughout college and two years living together on Long Island, they finally moved closer to home to Buffalo, NY. Thankfully, MacKenzie matched into a Pediatric Residency Program in Buffalo at Oishei Children's Hospital and Andrew found a school counselor position at Arcade Elementary School. They currently live together in Buffalo and can't wait to say "I Do!"

The Proposal

She said "YES!"

On August 7th, 2021 Andrew gathered family and friends together at The Hotel Lenhart in Bemus Point. After a day of mini golf, Andrew drove MacKenzie around Chautauqua County to all of the meaningful locations of their relationship including the ice rink where they first met, the picnic table at Bridgeview, and Maple Grove High School parking lot where they had their first kiss. The drive concluded with a walk through the park in Bemus. While walking along the shore of Chautauqua Lake, Andrew got down on one knee and proposed. But the surprise was not over for MacKenzie! Andrew brought MacKenzie to The Hotel Lenhart, where he bartends over the summers, to show the owner her ring. They had worked together to trick MacKenzie to get her into the hotel where both family and friends were gathered for a surprise engagement party. MacKenzie fell to the floor crying with tears of joy upon entering and seeing everyone. The day ended with a champagne toast and cheers to the future!
