Kevin and Mackenzie grew up over 800 miles away from each other, yet somehow the stars were aligned for them to find one another. It all began in the summer of 2018, when Kevin made the decision to move all the way from Illinois to Binghamton, New York for work. A year later, after graduating college in 2019, Mackenzie was accepted into medical school and informed she would be spending her 3rd year in Binghamton for clinical rotations. In the summer of 2021, the time finally came for Mackenzie to move to Binghamton for her clinical rotations. Kevin had actually been away in Massachusetts for several weeks for work. He eventually returned to NY in the fall of 2021. Like many couples today, they met online and soon decided to meet up for a first date. They clicked instantly (despite the fact Mackenzie confused Michigan State for Michigan University). Come spring 2023, Mackenzie graduated medical school and moved to Pennsylvania for residency and their relationship became long distance. Despite the 3.5 hour drive between them, many hours on the road, and sometimes going so many as 6 weeks without seeing one another, they made it work. It wasn't easy but they knew it was worth it. In fall 2025, Kevin surprised her and asked Mackenzie to marry him at her favorite park, and she said yes. After this summer, the distance and years apart will finally come to an end, and their lives together can begin!
