Are there parking options available?

Answer

There’s a parking lot right by the mansion, but it won’t fit everyone. Don’t stress—attendants will help find overflow parking on the street. We encourage carpooling or rideshares. Bonus: this means you can party safely at the open bar!

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’d love for guests to wear cocktail attire. August can get hot, so suit jackets may not be necessary the whole time. Gentlemen, nice shirts and slacks work perfectly, and ladies, light cocktail dresses are a great choice. Most importantly, come feeling comfortable and looking your best for our beautiful venue—and all the photos we’ll be taking!

Travel Tip

Answer

If you’re coming from southeast Iowa, traffic around the State Fair may be heavy. To avoid delays, consider taking the route around by the airport. We also recommend giving yourself extra travel time so you can arrive relaxed and on time for the ceremony.

What about the heat?

Answer

We’ll have parasols, fans, and plenty of shady spots and water to help you stay cool. You’re also welcome to step inside and tour the mansion. The museum will be open during the wedding, so you can explore all the history, admire the beautiful artwork, and take a little break from the sun!

Is this a phone free ceremony?

We kindly ask that you keep your phones away and on silent during the ceremony. Don’t worry—our two photographers will be capturing all the special moments. Sit back, relax, and enjoy! Feel free to get them back out for the rest of the night and capture the fun!

We want everyone to truly enjoy the celebration! Consider booking a hotel, making it a little getaway, and treating yourselves to a fun night out. Dance away your worries, indulge in the delicious food, sip your favorite drinks, and celebrate with us to the fullest—it’s going to be a night to remember!

Will there be snacks?

Of course! During cocktail hour, we’ll have a butter board and bruschetta bar for you to nibble on. We don’t want anyone going hungry while waiting for dinner!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We love that you want to share the day with someone special! Please only bring a guest if your invitation specifically included a plus one. We have limited space and planned for a certain number of meals. We truly appreciate your understanding.
